The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) has as a world-wide reputation. Their teaching materials and methods are excellent and RYA is recognised worldwide as the standard of excellence in sailing education. The RYA’s training is based on the practical nature of the teaching and on a student-instructor ratio of no more than 5 to 1, thus ensuring that the instructor can dedicate the necessary time to the student. RYA courses are based on comprehensive syllabi and course materials, and lead to certificates that are widely recognised and respected around the world. They inspect every recognised training centre (RTC) and their boats every year to ensure they meet RYA standards.

This yachting school was founded and it is run by Romeo Dretcanu as Principal and Chief instructor. He is RYA qualified as: Yachtmaster Instructor Ocean Sail, Powerboat Instructor, Personal Watercraft Instructor, VHF instructor, Diesel Instructor, Radar Instructor and First Aid Instructor. As an RYA instructor for 12 years, he worked for 10 schools on three continents: from South Africa to Netherlands and from Israel to Gibraltar. For almost 100.000 miles including five Atlantic crossings, he sailed all sorts of boats: sailing and motor, mono and multihulls, gaining valuable experience in instructing, deliveries and charter operations.
